I'm so excited to announce a new adventure I'll be starting on this coming fall! I'll be joining our local homeschool group to lead a preschool co-op class. Over the past year and a half working with the Mother Goose Time curriculum with my own little one has truly grown my passion for teaching. I'm excited to get to utilize the lesson plans, activities and tools with another group of littles! This awesome opportunity came about while I was looking into homeschooling. Our tot-school days, when L-Bug was two, was all from home. Now that our daughter is "preschool age" my husband and I have been discussing our options for schooling. I reached out to a local group here on our post and was very pleased to find out that the group has come together to form a Co-op! A co-op is a group of homeschooling families who have joined together to increase their children's learning experiences by working together. You've heard the term "it takes a village"... well that is sort of the mind set here! The group participates in field trips, sports, classes, etc. I'm going to be continuing my Family Child Care home with my multi-age classroom as well. So I've NEVER done anything like this before and I'm asking for your advice! If you've ever participated in a preschool co-op class what suggestions do you have? For teachers that have worked with groups of preschoolers what ideas can you share? Thoughts?! Fun-day Friday! What to do during those hot summer days when your stuck inside.... DANCE of course! All of these littles loved doing our Mother Goose Time Dance-N-Beats DVD "Dancing in the Desert" this past month! Movement is such an important part of learning for little ones. They are growing into their bodies and learning important coordination skills. Living in the desert it gets so hot outside that getting the kids moving and being active can be hard. That's just one of the many reasons why I love popping in the DVD and getting the kiddos to move :)
And ALL of the kids love it! From the youngest at 14months to the oldest at 7 1/2! |
